Latest Reactions to Detention and Other Measures in Kochani Fire Case

October 3, 2026, will mark one year since the approval of the charge in the Kochani fire case. That day, according to the law, one of the defendants, the owner of the club, Dejan Jovanov, is set to be released from detention. However, he will not be left without measures ensuring his presence, the Criminal Court says, adding that those measures will be determined once the detention measure expires.

Prosecutor General Saveski confirmed that Jovanov’s detention was finishing. However, he did not publicly state his position on the matter, saying he didn’t want to be misinterpreted.

Most of the defendants are out on bail. The Criminal Court says all defendants are complying with the measures and regularly appearing at scheduled hearings.
