Lawyer of former First Deputy PM Artan Grubi, Vladimir Donevski, has filed an appeal over the decision of the Criminal Court to determine a detention measure against Grubi over the Lottery case.
Antonio Apostolski, the lawyer of the second suspect in this case, former State Lottery Director Perparim Bajrami, also has announced an appeal against the court decisions for this client.
Grubi and Bajrami are prime suspects in the Lottery case, in which they are suspected of abuse of official position in relation with procurements of slot machines for the State Lottery, and this damaging the state budget for around 8 million euros. Before the investigation against him was revealed in the media, Grubi notified via social networks that he will take a trip to Kosovo.
Bajrami too is out of the country, but his lawyer Apsotolski claims that he did not flee, but for some time now lives and works abroad. However, neither the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia nor their counterparts in Kosovo have come out with information whether Grubi and Bajrami are in Kosovo or not.
