Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle Day Marked

With respect for the centuries-long striving for freedom and paying tribute to the founding of the Macedonian Revolutionary Organization in 1893, Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle Day (October 23) was marked across North Macedonia on Friday.

The ideals championed by figures such as Goce Delchev, Pitu Guli, and Jane Sandanski — an independent and sovereign Macedonia — now confront modern challenges and contestations from neighboring Bulgaria, which emerged only after that country joined the EU, PM Mickoski assessed at the central event marking the holiday. In that regard, he added that precisely as a result of that, the country’s rightful place was at that very same table in Brussels, where national interests could be protected on an equal footing.

Congratulations on the holiday were extended by many other politicians, including President Siljanovska Davkova.

Regarding the PM’s speech, SDSM however said while he was talking about his faith in a European future, Commissioner Kos hadn’t even mentioned the country when addressing the European path of the Balkans that week.
