The majority of those killed in the Kocani nightclub fire were trampled in the crowd crush, the Kocani General Hospital’s Director, Kristina Serafimova, pointed out on Sunday. That, she explained, most likely was the result of the panic that started after the fire had broken out.
Those who lost the lives were aged 14-24, Serafimova also said. 27 people injured in the fire are being transported to neighbouring countries (10 to Bulgaria, nine to Turkiye, three to Greece, and five to Serbia), the Health Ministry said the same day.
A total of 47 people will receive treatment abroad, according to Health Minister Taravari. Among those killed in the fire was one of DNK’s two members, Andrej Gjorgjieski and Sara Projkovska, who was DNK’s backing vocalist, and an on-duty cop who was carrying out activities related to drugs and presence of juveniles.
