The Belgrade Higher Court has issued a detention measure against the three people arrested following the seizure of five tons of marijuana in Konjuh village, near Krushevac, N.S., R.S., and I.D. According to Serbia’s prosecutor’s office, the drugs were transported from North Macedonia.
Prosecutors say the five suspects in the case have exercised their legal right to remain silent during the hearing at the office. Considering suspect Aleksandar Mijajlovic is at large, a domestic and international warrant for his arrest has been issued.
An investigation has been launched against him, as well as against Nebojsa Spasojevic, Rade Spasojevic, Ivan Dragnic, and Uros Mladenovski, Serbian agency Beta has reported. According to the prosecutor’s office, the organized criminal group acted internationally, having gotten five tons of marijuana on North Macedonia’s territory from the start of January to the 29th day of that month.
“According to the organizer’s plan, the drugs were transported to the warehouse of the suspected Spasojevic family, from where it was taken over by suspect Uros Mladenovski for further selling”, it is pointed out in the press release.
According to the office, it’s especially indicative that Ivan Dragnic is a co-owner of the Alphapharm company, located in the Skopje region. In North Macedonia, SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE traded accusations over the case.
