Marking of 83rd Anniversary of Deportation of Macedonian Jews Continues

A commemorative event was held in Bitola on Tuesday to mark the 83^rd anniversary of the deportation of Jews from the city to Treblinka.

“Let us remember so that we do not forget”, MP and Deputy Parliament Speaker Vesna Bendevska said.

The Municipality of Bitola, as the host and organizer of the marking, held a commemorative session and hosted a reception for city and state delegations.

The same day, President Gordana Siljanovska visited Treblinka at the marking of the 83^rd anniversary of the deportation of 7,144 Macedonian Jews (from Bitola, Shtip, and Skopje) to the camp. She said historical revisionism and falsification of the truth about the Holocaust of Macedonian Jews wouldn’t be allowed.
