Despite the information from the local Public Enterprise (PE), Valandovo Mayor Gjoko Kamchev said on Thursday there was no arsenic in the water in the Municipality. He made those comments following additional analyses conducted at the Institute of Public Health in Skopje.
As Mayor Kamchev told Kanal 5, immediately after he’d received the initial analyses, he requested additional tests to be performed to confirm the quality of the drinking water. However, the Food and Veterinary Agency is yet to say that the water can be used for drinking.
According to the institution, it had delivered the ban decision on July 16, 2026, but it only reached the public on Wednesday, via the official website and Facebook page of the PE.
