Struga Mayor Ramiz Merko has been found guilty in the trial concerning illegal appointment of head-teachers of schools in the villages of Labunista, Radolista, and Podgorci.
On Friday, Struga Basic Court Judge Jordan Jovanov stated that considering Merko had no prior convictions, he would be fined 10,000 euros that is, not be sent behind bars for the crime of unscrupulous operation within the service.
The Prosecutor’s Office’s representative said the verdict would be appealed, as did Merko’s defence. The latter again pointed out that Merko hadn’t committed any crime. The verdict concerns the three schools in the aforementioned villages.
