Mickoski: Mihailov Should Be Extradited to Our Country

PM Hristijan Mickoski called on Bulgaria to act on an arrest warrant for the father of Iva Mihailova and extradite him to North Macedonia, where he is expected to serve a 12-year prison sentence for an offense related to attempted murder. Mickoski made the comments after Mihailova’s father appeared in Bulgarian media, despite being wanted by North Macedonian authorities.

“We have an arrest warrant and expect our partners to act accordingly”, Mickoski said, referring to Bulgaria as an ally within NATO.

He added that people wanted under arrest warrants who are suspected or convicted of crimes should be extradited so they can face justice.

“Only in this way can everyone prove their guilt or innocence”, he said.

The case has drawn attention after Mihailova’s father publicly discussed in Bulgarian media the court proceedings against his daughter in Kochcani.
