On Wednesday, in his address to a rally in Butel, VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM Hristijan Mickoski stated regarding the judiciary that even though there were over 80 charges stuck in court and prosecutorial mazes, he would get committed to them after the elections. He also stated that there would be a reset of the system.
Nonetheless, Mickoski pointed out in that regard that it would be about justice and accountability, not about retaliation. The process to cleanse the political swamp will depend exclusively on the law and Constitution, while there will not be running away from justice, he also emphasised.
“I’ve been listening to the fake encouraging by [SDSM leader Venko] Filipce, behind which, I’m convinced, only the fear of facing accountability is. Those are the statements: ‘There, it’s been 1.5 years since the start of the government’s term, but nobody’s been held to account and nobody’s afraid.’ The truth is that there are over 80 charges in the drawers of the Prosecutor’s Office”, he noted, adding that the “key to those drawers” was at SDSM’s HQ.
Later on Wednesday, in Karpos, Mickoski said his party’s candidate, Sotir Lukrovski, had a convincing lead according to polls.
