On Thursday, European Affairs Minister Orhan Murtezani said it was necessary to make a distinction between the positions of Bulgaria and stands of the other EU members that recognize the Macedonian identity when it came to bilateral issues.
According to him, everything that creates a distinction between a bilateral position of the eastern neighbor and a common position of all EU members in terms of a bilateral identity matter and an EU accession one is welcome.
“I think that if we individually hear all other 26 members, all recognize both the Macedonian identity and the Macedonian language. That’s not disputed. However, with the Resolution, they will be additionally confirmed. Therefore, we insist on separating the positions of other members and Bulgaria as far as the bilateral matter is concerned”, he underlined.
