Minister Sali and Ambassador Rokas Part of Conference related to EU Path

On Wednesday, DPM and European Affairs Minister Sali addressed the conference marking 30 years of relations between North Macedonia and the EU.

Integration remains a strategic priority of the country, he noted, emphasizing that since the completion of the screening process, the focus had been on accelerated delivery of reforms.

According to Sali, a credible enlargement process requires parallel commitment, i.e., a strong level of delivery by candidates and predictability from the EU. He added that full-fledged EU membership was the country’s clear ambition.

At the same event, EU Ambassador Rokas said North Macedonia belonged in the European family, adding that the country was much closer than people thought. In his view, what’s currently missing is a little pragmatism and desire for unification in terms of the political spectrum for the final steps towards the EU to be made.
