Mirchevski Claims Slaveski Threatened him Kanal 5 would Be Shut Down

National Bank Governor Slaveski has issued direct threats that Kanal 5 will be shut down towards the TV station’s CEO, Ivan Mirchevski, following the broadcast of a series of reports regarding the Vice Governors case. The situation took place on Thursday, at a reception organized by the EU Delegation.

Mirchevski claims that Slaveski, in front of multiple witnesses, first asked him if he remembered what happened to Velija Ramkovski’s television network (A1 TV), which, at the time, was trying to topple the government, and then threatened him that if he continued like that, the same would happen to Kanal 5.

According to Mirchevski, Slaveski made those threats in the presence of several journalists and SDSM leader Filipche.

Asked about the matter, Filipche confirmed he’d heard the threats and expressed regret over Slaveski’s behavior. The National Bank has said that it doesn’t want to comment on, as it points out, allegations about private conversations or interpretations of events that are presented to the public.
