At a conference headlined “NATO – 75 Years of Unity, Cooperation and Collective Defence: Security Challenges for Europe”, held in Skopje on Tuesday, Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski, asked what the biggest risk facing North Macedonia’s democracy and society was, said disinformation and influence coming from Russia’s hybrid threats, but also interference in internal matters, especially in politics, were among the threats.
It’s important to prevent and monitor all radical events around the country, he added.
“We have to monitor all cells, structures, returnees from some hotbeds. We have to stay alert. The situation is stable and at the highest level, but one has to be alert,” the Minister pointed out.
Regarding the Middle East, he said events there could cause an increase in the number of migrants along the Balkan route, which would impact the security situation.
“The US election too is impacting the whole situation,” the Minister underlined.
