North Macedonia’s security situation remains stable, but institutions are closely monitoring global developments and their potential economic impact, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski said in a 21 TV interview.
He noted that security services regularly analyze risks and provide reports, stressing that global crises can directly affect economic flows.
Misajlovski pointed to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil trade passes, warning that disruptions there quickly influence markets. Rising energy prices are already being felt domestically, with fuel costs creating shocks for citizens.
He emphasized that institutions continue to track developments carefully to ensure timely responses to possible security or economic consequences.
