In response to Mucunski’s interview with Sitel, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry has said that North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister rejected an invitation to visit Sofia on November 25, 2025, for an event related to St. Clement.
Also, regarding his comments that influential EU members had initiated a meeting between him and counterpart Georgiev, which had been rejected by Bulgaria, it described them, in its press release on Tuesday, as manipulative and unclear.
The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry expressed “deep disappointment with the continued unconstructive approach” of North Macedonia and the “lack of openness” in communication with the public.
In response, Mucunski’s Ministry stressed that its Bulgarian counterpart institution was increasingly often positioning itself as a reviewer of statements by Macedonian political representatives instead of as a partner in essential and European-oriented dialogue.
