NATO Secretary General Rutte Meets President Siljanovska Davkova in Skopje

On Tuesday, NATO Secretary General Rutte visited Skopje. After his meeting with President Siljanovska Davkova, she said she’d told him that EU membership was the biggest investment and guarantee when it came to peace and security not only of the Western Balkans, but also of Europe.

As she added, she expects the NATO Summit in Ankara to see particular attention paid to the security situation in the Western Balkans, considering current events and challenges.

After the meeting, Secretary General Rutte said North Macedonia mattered to regional security. Also, he pointed out that the commitment to the region’s stability was steadfast.

“And we will not allow a security vacuum to emerge”, he noted.
