Parties have continued to trade accusations over the draft Electoral Code issue.
On Monday, SDSM said its positions on matter were not radical, as Mickoski wanted to portray them, i.e., it pointed out what was radical was the way the PM wanted to carry out the “electoral robbery” by the diaspora voting electronically. According to the party, even if diaspora members vote by mail, there will not be any control or guarantee of respecting the free will of citizens.
On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE said that SDSM and Levica were blocking the Code. Filipche’s party, VMRO-DPMNE added, doesn’t support the proposal on the diaspora because it fears that expatriates will not support its policies.
However, Levica leader Apasiev told Sloboden Pechat he would support Mickoski’s proposal for the diaspora to be able to vote electronically if the PM agreed to the country becoming a single electoral district. Parliamentary parties will hold a new meeting on the matter on Tuesday (July 7).
