New Protest March Held in Kocani

Parents and close ones of children killed and injured in the March nightclub fire in Kocani held a new protest march on Saturday. The participants’ main message was that justice had to be equal for all.

Also, they said they were revolted by the call from the Interior Ministry’s Trade Union to officers against whom measures of precaution and decisions to put employment on hold had been issued to ask for legal support from it because they had loans, mortgages, and debt.

The start of the march was delayed for 30 minutes because, according to the families, police, near the Nacional Hotel, were checking a van carrying citizens from other cities to support the march.

Nonetheless, the Interior Ministry said it was denying disinformation posted on social media and published by some portals that police allegedly hadn’t allowed citizens to enter Kocani.

As it explained, though there were regular traffic controls in the frames of its competences, including for the protest march to be held, nobody had been prevented from participating freely in it. Nonetheless, the participants stated that police hadn’t allowed vehicles from other cities to enter.
