SDSM has reacted to the opening of a case by the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) regarding a potential conflict of interest in relation to the celebration of Independence Day involving an individual, assessing that it does not constitute an investigation into what the party claims is the embezzlement of 5.5 million euros related to the organization of the celebration.
It again demanded that the Public Prosecutor’s Office initiate proceedings and “follow the money trail”. However, VMRO-DPMNE rejected the accusations.
“SDS must learn that a tender, procurement, or Independence Day celebration can be organized in a legal and honest manner, not in the criminal and corrupt manner it knew and was accustomed to doing”, the ruling party stated.
