Citing Crisis Management Centre data, Kanal 5 reported on Monday that, in the previous 24 hours, five wildfires had been active. The situation is still more serious near Nikolic village.
The Nacionalni Sumi (National Forests) PE said that the wind had caused additional problems.
Its Deputy Director, Kire Mihailov, asked about the early detection systems, stressed that though the Nikolic wildfire had been detected quickly, the difficult terrain and reactivation of the fire tongues were posing a huge challenge. A Skopska Crna Gora wildfire has been reactivated as well, near Gornjani village.
