On Wednesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova congratulated Donald Trump on his “historic” election as the 47th President of the US.
“The overwhelming support from the American people reflects their confidence in your leadership and vision, entrusting their hopes to your stewardship for the nation’s growth and prosperity. Your presidency will usher in a golden era of progress, unity, and success, where optimism drives innovation, strengthens the economy, and reinforces the values that make the United States a global beacon.
We are deeply inspired by your resolute commitment to fostering global peace and stand fully committed to supporting your decisive efforts to end conflicts and promote lasting understanding across borders. Under your esteemed presidency, we firmly believe the bonds between Macedonian and American people will be powerfully strengthened, forging deeper diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties that will drive regional stability and solidify our shared values and interests. Once again, congratulations on your election and inauguration”, she said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Congratulations were extended by Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, too.
“Ahead of us lies a period of strong partnership, enhanced economic and trade relations, and joint efforts for global peace and prosperity”, he said.
Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi, who’s in Washington with VLEN representatives, said the US represented not only a deciding factor in global policies, but also an unshakable ally of North Macedonia.
SDSM leader Venko Filipce said that he was convinced that during Trump’s second term as President, the US-North Macedonia strategic partnership would continue and be deepened.
“North Macedonia and the US have long-time ties of friendship and cooperation, while I believe they will be developed even more towards mutual progress and well-being of ours”, he said.
