North Macedonia, Serbia Sign Agreement for Gas Interconnector

North Macedonia and Serbia have signed an agreement to build a 67-kilometer gas interconnector linking the gas network near Klechovce with the system near Vranje. The route will span 23 kilometers in North Macedonia and about 44 kilometers in Serbia.

Following a tender process, Rapid Build was selected for the EUR 29.4 million contract. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with gas flows planned to begin in 2028.

PM Hristijan Mickoski said the connection with Greece is expected to be completed in the first half of next year, while the Serbia link is targeted for completion by the end of 2028.
