PM Hristijan Mickoski said Ohrid’s “St. Paul the Apostle” Airport is entering a new phase following the opening of its renovated terminal. He expects passenger numbers and the number of airlines using the airport to increase, describing it as an important driver of development for Ohrid, Struga, surrounding municipalities and the wider Macedonian economy.
Mickoski said the airport has recorded historic highs this year, including more than 3,000 passengers in a single day and over 20 departures in one day. He expressed confidence that passenger and flight numbers could double with continued construction and government support.
Despite ongoing challenges, he said Macedonia is now a better place to live than three years ago and credited government efforts and public support for its progress.
