Following her meeting in Strasbourg with CoE Secretary General Alain Berset, Bulgarian President Iotova stated that she expected the supervision of the execution of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) judgments concerning OMO Ilinden – Pirin to finally be concluded at the following session.
According to her, Bulgaria has so far fulfilled all recommendations issued by international bodies and, in coordination with the Registry Agency, passed legislative changes to enable the registration of the organization. However, Iotova added that a document was consistently missing on OMO Ilinden – Pirin’s part during the application process. On the other hand, the organization described her claims as complete falsehoods and manipulation.
