The reactions to the developments related to the Oncology Clinic have continued.
On Monday, the institution’s head, Violeta Klisarova, said that since she’d become the Director, all patients had received the prescribed therapy, without any manipulations. 12 doctors decide on the treatment method, the path of the medicines from the moment they are brought to the Clinic to the moment they are used is tracked, there’s a limited number of medical persons that can enter the area where the therapy is prepared.
Regarding the nurse that was caught stealing therapy at the end of February, she was removed from the job position immediately and fired in May. Health Minister Mexhiti stated that since the start of his term, the work of the Clinic had been watchfully followed.
PM Dimitar Kovacevski asked for the case not to be politicised and urged the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out an all-encompassing and swift investigation. On the other hand, VMRO- DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski stated again that both criminal and political accountability was needed. Monday also saw a protest staged over the matter in Skopje.
