Parliament Adopts G2G Text, Plenary Debate Sees Numerous Accusations

On Wednesday, Parliament adopted the text of the G2G with the UK, with 76 votes in favor and six against. There was applause from the ruling majority, but booing from opposition MPs.

Previously, at the plenary session, SDSM MP Oliver Spasovski had stated that the G2G signed the previous week in London by the UK’s Minister of Exports, Gareth Thomas, and North Macedonia’s Deputy PM and Transport Minister, Aleksandar Nikoloski, was void and couldn’t be interpreted as an international document.

In that regard, he stated the English version of the document uses the word “arrangement”, not “agreement”.

Also, in that version, Spasovski explained, Nikoloski is referred to as “Vice-President” of North Macedonia, which is a non-existing position. However, the Government’s representatives stated that it was about a technical mistake that would be fixed.
