Parliament Speaker Jovan Mitreski held a meeting on Monday with the EU Delegation’s Head, Ambassador David Geer. They discussed the excellent cooperation so far that will continue in the pre-election period.
The EU Delegation’s Head expressed unreserved support for the newly-elected Speaker and Parliament as a whole, which, as he said, will continue in the coming months in order for the uncompleted activities and legislative procedures related to the reform obligations arising from the EU path to be completed.
In that context, he pointed to the importance of completing, during the caretaker cabinet’s term, all procedures related to the parliamentary elections in order for no side to call into question the legitimacy of the election process.
Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Mitreski stated he would do anything within his competence to close issues so far unsolved in Parliament that were of particular significance to the functioning of institutions and to North Macedonia’s EU file.
