In the frames of the constitutive session on Tuesday, Parliament, with 101 votes in favour, adopted the Verification Committee’s report, thus verifying the mandates of 118 MPs.
VMRO-DPMNE’s Dafina Stojanoska, head of the Committee, said the body had considered the reports from the State Election Commission (SEC) and the statement by VLEN’s Bilall Kasami in which he was requesting for his term not to be verified because he would continue to serve as Tetovo Mayor.
In response, Levica leader Dimitar Apasiev said the SEC report didn’t match the Committee one and challenged Kasami’s request.
“Kasami has been elected an MP. According to the law, now, elections for the Mayor of Tetovo are required,” he stressed.
