On Tuesday, PM Hristijan Mickoski said a part of MEPs had announced they wouldn’t support the amendment to erase the words “Macedonian identity” and “Macedonian language” in Rapporteur Thomas Waitz’s draft-report.
“This is the first time since Macedonia’s independence that its identity and language have been included in such a document”, he pointed out, again describing the attempts to erase that as “Taliban-like” manner of action.
Mickoski believes that Bulgaria’s goal is clear, that is, if the constitutional changes are made, it will deny census data and demand proper representation. The PM, in that regard, stressed that that was proven by the figures presented by Bulgaria’s cabinet on 216,000 Bulgarian passports in its western neighbor.
Also on Tuesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova fiercely criticized the EP and EU, that is, as she said, the serious democratic deficit and violation of European values.
