PM Mickoski Addresses Event Marking One Year of New Government

PM Hristijan Mickoski addressed an event in Skopje which marked one year since the new government assumed offices, titled “The Time of Macedonia Comes”.

“We had a tough year full of very hard work, and thanks to that hard and tireless work of ours, our country has become the 4th fastest-growing economy in Europe. We have started over 250 major projects, and we are about to realize even more.

We are to implement more than 400 projects, measures, reforms, steps towards a country with great economic growth, high living standards, reforms that improve judiciary and rule of law, and everything else to make the citizens feel comfortable in the country and proud of it. In the meantime, certain people dared to say that during our rule Macedonia has been humiliated.

How can they speak about such things, when it was them that gave the greatest humiliation to this country by changing its name, by making bad deals with Bulgaria, and on top of all that, robbed the Macedonian citizens. Now that they are no longer in power, the time of humiliation is over.

Over the past year, we also started a resolved fight against corruption and crime. Finally, those criminals that had the reputation of untouchables, are either facing justice in the institution, or have cowardly fled the country. The people want these criminals to face responsibility, which is why we are working hard on establishing a system which will hold responsible everyone that dares to break the laws.

In the past year, we also faced a great tragic accident, which I can say was the worst day in my mandate as PM, that 16 March 2025, when in the night club fire 62 of our fellow citizens lost their lives and many were injured.

That accident is the consequence of a corrupt system that was devalued and demolished for many years. Now, it is up to us to establish a new system, and this entire tragedy is a major test for the judicial authorities in the country”, Mickoski said.
