The EU remains the strategic determination of the country, but the enlargement process must be founded on the fulfillment of criteria and achieved results, rather than on bilateral disputes, PM Mickoski pointed out at Thursday’s joint press conference with EU Ambassador Rokas, on the occasion of the EC’s Report on North Macedonia’s progress.
EU membership, Mickoski underlined, represents tangible benefits for the country. However, he reiterated that the Government’s stance regarding the constitutional changes issue remained unchanged and that the country expected the European path to be based on principles and the delivery of reforms.
Ambassador Rokas stated that North Macedonia was demonstrating that it was a reliable partner of the EU, sharing its strategic priorities. According to the EU Ambassador, now is the moment for the country to seize the opportunities offered by the European perspective and to continue efforts to fulfill reform priorities.
