PM Mickoski Comments on Multiple Topics

In response to Kocevski’s stand that the decision to dismiss him is political, PM Mickoski has said the Prosecutor General has had his chance, but hasn’t used it.

Asked about who the new ministers from VLEN would be, Mickoski said that would have been determined by November 26. Asked about which laws from the reform agenda were being planned to be submitted to procedure within Parliament, the PM stressed that there was a clear plan and focusAmong the steps that will be taken, Mickoski underlined, is the alignment of the Electoral Code with OSCE and ODIHR remarks.

“I see no reason why MPs will not support it considering it’s a reform law supported by the EC itself”, the PM stated.

Regarding the legislation concerning the Prosecutor’s Office, public-prosecutorial service, and court service, he said there was readiness to accept what was being asked, including the main one for employments and promotions not to depend on the Government’s opinion.

“With regards to the budget, we will set a minimum value within the budget of the Office and within the budget of courts that will surely be higher than the median budget of EU members covered by the CoE. We will do that too”, Mickoski stressed.

When it comes to the Judicial Council bill, he said it had been passed by the Government. Currently, it’s being aligned, while the authorities are waiting for opinion from the EC office, the PM stressed, adding that he expected it to have been passed by Parliament by the end of December.
