On Monday, PM Hristijan Mickoski stated that he was ready to talk about the Reform Agenda with all leaders of opposition parties represented in Parliament, not only with SDSM’s Venko Filipce.
“The Reform Agenda is a common project. There was a joint vote. So, I expect constructiveness by all political actors in Parliament”, he said at a press-conference held at the Government building, adding that he was waiting for SDSM to submit nominees for the two sectors, i.e. rule of law and energy.
Also, the PM congratulated Filipce on his election as SDSM leader. However, he declined to comment on his statement that the new government hadn’t done anything since the start of its term.
“Considering this is a Government rostrum, I would congratulate him on his re-election and wish him successful work as SDSM leader”, the PM added.
Asked what he and Filipce had talked about regarding the Tetovo hospital fire and Laskarci and Struma cases, the PM said he believed they needed to be reconsidered because it seemed they’d been covered up.
Mickoski also pointed to the initiative of VMRO-DPMNE for a committee of inquiry in Parliament to consider those three cases alongside the Kocani tragedy. Again, regarding Kocani, he said 34 people had been detained and a big number of current and former official persons had been summoned for an informative conversation. There is political will to provide support to solve the Laskarci, Tetovo hospital, and Struma cases, according to him.
“With all, there is no longer room to improvise. All must be solved. The Public must be observing that. Otherwise, we will make no progress. These things will repeat themselves to us”, the PM stressed.
Asked whether the investigation could be expected to cover current officials of the Government too, i.e. persons in the police sector and other institutions and whether they would resign for moral reasons, the PM said the Prosecutor’s Office was the institution carrying out the investigation.
“If you believe I should resign for moral reasons, there will be no problem with me doing that”, he added.
