On Thursday, PM Hristijan Mickoski criticised the judiciary, including the Judicial Council, also in a statement for media.
“Citizens are not satisfied with the way in which the court-prosecutorial system works in our country”, he stated, describing it as a swamp where there were a lot of controversies and scandals.
According to the PM, though there cannot be complete disbandment of the Council and the anomalies cannot be detected in a short period of time, a composition of that institution can be elected that will be able, objectively, without “party vices and interests”, to clear up “this swamp” and that will sort of monitor how judges act and what type of decisions they make.
According to the PM, though in the event of a successful no-confidence motion against Council members elected by Parliament, they will be able to continue to be part of membership, he hopes that they will have the virtue and withdraw.
