PM Mickoski Criticises Two Councils over Low Confidence in Judiciary

“As a result of confidence in the judiciary being at 2%, citizens feel underprivileged, as opposed to those within the Judicial Council and Council of Public Prosecutors who are paid thousands of euros,” PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Monday.

He added that his cabinet didn’t plan to govern by using political pressures.

“I want justice and I only want judges and prosecutors to deliver on what they are paid for,” the PM stressed.

Mickoski also reiterated the stand that the reforms within the two Councils should be made through changes to the law. If necessary, the PM also underlined, there will be constitutional changes as well.

According to Mickoski, the goal is for the sector itself to elect new members of the two institutions, while resistance has come from those that don’t want change.
