PM Mickoski on Bulgaria and Related Topics

“Politics is based on talks. I am one of those politicians who want to talk until a solution is reached. In both the first and second cases, we will continue to talk. We know what our red lines are, and within the framework of those red lines, we will try to find a solution”, PM Mickoski said on Thursday, while answering journalists’ questions ahead of the start of the Ambassadorial Council.

Asked to comment on Radev’s statement that the Bulgarian PM would support EU enlargement, but that Bulgaria still stood by the requirement for fulfilling assumed obligations and protecting Bulgarians in North Macedonia, Mickoski said that the Constitution offered absolutely serious protection for all citizens in the country, including the Bulgarian community.

The PM again referred to, as he said, the Macedonian community on the other side of the border, “bearing in mind that Bulgaria has ratified that it will respect human rights, while, on the other hand, it continuously avoids registering associations of the Macedonian community in Bulgaria”.
