PM Mickoski Talks Relations with U.S., Energy, and EU Path in Interview

In an interview with MIA in Washington, PM Mickoski said the country was a top priority of the U.S. in the region, while capital projects of historic significance should emerge from the strategic partnership in the coming years.

“What pleases me is the fact that the US and the current administration of President Trump absolutely view Macedonia and this Government as a close friend, not only in the region, but also in Europe”, he said.

Discussions with the U.S. also cover financing for Chebren and Galishte, as well as other energy, infrastructure, and technology investments, Mickoski pointed out. The goal, as he added, is to become an energy crossroads in the region.

In the interview, Mickoski also touched upon relations with Bulgaria, noting that though they remained an unavoidable topic in talks with European partners, his country would not enter a new process without a clear perspective and a predictable outcome.
