On Wednesday, VMRO-DPMNE continued its criticism of the Association of Judges, following the latter’s reaction to PM Hristijan Mickoski’s comments on the judiciary made on 23 September.
The party’s Viktorija Andonovska stated that the Association was very vocal even though it had done no work and contributed to a lower confidence level of citizens in the sector.
“The remnants of SDSM and DUI in the judiciary and Prosecutor’s Office are those that entered a plea deal with [ex-PM] Zoran Zaev’s man in the judiciary, Nake Georgiev [now-former] Supreme Court Judge and Judicial Council member and with Ixhet Memeti, [now-former] Deputy President of the Council of Public Prosecutors, who were charged with rigging and exerting influence with regards to a court verdict [in the case concerning ex-Novo Selo Mayor Boro Stojcev]”, she noted.
On the other hand, SDSM again stated that it was PM Hristijan Mickoski and the ruling party that had blocked judicial reforms and, consequently, justice in the country. “Mickoski has refused to adopt required reform laws and shown he has no intention about an independent judiciary”, the party stated.
