Post-First Round Situation in Ethnic Albanian Bloc

VLEN’s presidential candidate, Arben Taravari, hasn’t revealed details of the phone call he had on Wednesday with VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.

On Thursday, he also denied he’d had a secret meeting with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti the previous night and that he’d received some offer for him.

Moreover, VLEN has affirmed the common goal, saying it is to make DUI an opposition party. Mickoski has said there hasn’t been a discussion on whether the two coalitions, the VMRO-DPMNE-led Your Macedonia and VLEN, are enough to form a government or whether there will be talks with other parties too.

VMRO-DPMNE doesn’t consider DUI to be an option when it comes to forming a government together.

When it comes to the DUI-led European Front coalition, it still hasn’t discussed whether it would urge its voters to support a candidate in the second round of the presidential election and whether it would be Gordana Siljanovska Davkova or Stevo Pendarovski.

Also on Thursday, DUI’s Artan Grubi symbolically brought a suitcase outside the building of Cair Municipality, headed by VLEN’s Visar Ganiu, saying the Mayor should take it.

“Let him pack and leave. Let him free the occupied Municipality of Cair,” Grubi pointed out.
