President Siljanovska Davkova Delivers First Annual Address in Parliament

In her first annual address in Parliament on Wednesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said it was time for a brave EU step forward, in line with the example of the so-called Big Bang enlargement 20 years ago, adding that it would mean reintegration of the region. The country’s proposal, she added, is about a deferred effect of the constitutional changes.

The President, who believes that reforms are necessary within the EU itself, asked Bulgaria to respect decisions by the European Court of Human Rights concerning rights of Macedonians in that country.

Siljanovska Davkova said that together with PM Hristijan Mickoski and Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski, they acted as a harmonious trio. Also, she said she welcomed the fight against corruption and organised crime. When it comes to the judiciary, her stand is that deep and accelerated reforms are needed.
