President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova awarded the “September 8” Order to Jordan Plevnesh and Rade Siljan, and posthumously to Dzevat Gega, Meto Jovanovski and Gligor Cemerski.
At the ceremony, she praised the five creators for works that transcend genres and generations, leaving a lasting mark on Macedonia’s cultural heritage. She said September 8 is not merely a historical date but a lasting responsibility for every generation to protect, build and improve the country.
Siljanovska-Davkova stressed that the state belongs to its citizens, whose knowledge, critical thinking, talent and hard work enrich society and create enduring values.
Earlier on Tuesday, Siljanovska-Davkova laid flowers at the graves of North Macedonia’s first president, Kiro Gligorov, former President Boris Trajkovski, and the country’s first prime minister, Nikola Kljusev.
