Prosecutors’ Authorizations in Cases not from Parent Offices to Be Revoked

Prosecutor General Saveski will revoke all authorizations of prosecutors in charge of cases not coming from their parent prosecutor’s offices. That means that the Thaler 1 and 2 cases, which concern VMRO-DPMNE’s financing and seat, currently run by Prosecutor Lenche Ristoska, will be assigned to other prosecutors.

Asked by Sakam Da Kazham on Tuesday whether the decision would cover other processes related to high corruption, Saveski said he knew neither what crimes nor which delegated prosecutors it was about.

Tuesday saw the hearing over the Thaler 2 case postponed again due to the absence of former Government Secretary General Kiril Bozhinovski. Saveski stressed that there would be no exceptions when it came to the decision on authorizations, except in relation to the 15 prosecutors in charge of the Kochani fire case, due to the complexity of evidence, as well as to those delegated in Kriva Palanka and Resen, where there are no prosecutors.
