The Skopje Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case following Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska’s allegations about unlawfulness of constructions in Cair and her submission of documents.
“The Office has opened a case that’s been assigned to a relevant prosecutor from the Department of Complex and Serious Crime with the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office. Actions of checks are already being taken”, the institution said on Monday, adding that in addition to the submission of documents, there had been a hearing process involving Arsovska, too.
Regarding the decision to abolish the legalisation of a building, which, According to Arsovska, has been antedated, the Cadastre Agency stated that it didn’t have the legal obligation to check legal grounds to abolish the legalization.
“Cair Municipality submitted legal grounds to us, that is, a decision to abolish legalisation. We, as the Agency, act from a technical standpoint, upon the requests themselves, which implies we check whether said decision is adopted by an authorised organ, which was the case in this matter, whether there is a seal and signature by the Mayor and Municipality. If everything is in order, we are bound to act, according to the law. According to the law, the Agency doesn’t check the validity of submitted legal grounds”, the Agency’s Director, Ivan Zivkovski, pointed out.
Also on Monday, Arsovska again accused PM Hristijan Mickoski of protecting Cair Mayor Visar Ganiu.
In addition, she said that she would make public all documents submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office and other institutions.
Regarding her claims that she’s received death threats, the Interior Ministry said it hadn’t received any reports. When it comes to Arsovska’s allegations that she was followed, police are taking measures to find the persons.
