Regarding the Risto Krmzov case, the authorities have said that the financial damage to the budget caused by the 15 companies in the process involving the Strumica businessperson caused financial damage to the budget of around 94 million euros.
The investigation covers 23 physical persons, including four accountants and eight inspectors of the Public Revenue Office (PRO).
“They would sign fictitious purchase contracts on real estate that wasn’t owned at all by the company selling it. The same premises would be resold between them several times at enormous prices, with a square metre costing 4-20 thousand euros”, Prosecutor Verica Berzecka Krsteva stated on Tuesday, adding that there had been also consignment and fake destruction of construction mechanization.
Afterwards, according to suspicions, the company that would buy the real estate would file a VAT return request before the PRO. That way, it was explained by the authorities, 30 million euros were made.
“With the received return, they would present creditworthiness, take out loans, pay salaries, build buildings”, Berzecka Krsteva added.
According to her, it is hard to find the manner in which the persons operated and were linked because fake documentation would be used.
