Prosecutor’s Office Working on Case Involving Suspicions of Espionage

The Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption has been conducting a pre–investigation for several months into possible illicit activities within the Cabinet of President Siljanovska Davkova related to suspicions of the extraction and encryption of confidential data.

As reported by Sloboden Pechat, an anonymous criminal charge signed by a “Group of Employees at the Interior Ministry” was submitted to the editorial board and to the Prosecutor’s Office. It claims that data was copied and encrypted from the computer system in the President’s cabinet, with suspicions that they could have ended up with foreign intelligence services.

According to the information in the charge, an IT administrator part of the Cabinet is under suspicion. It is claimed that he copied and stored confidential materials. Other individuals from the Cabinet and intelligence structures are also referred to, i.e., they are suspected of possibly participating in the concealment of evidence.
