Russian news agency TASS reported that Russian president Vladimir Putin has relieved Ambassador Sergey Bazdnikin of his diplomatic duties in Skopje.
The reasons for this decision are yet to be revealed. Bazdnikin took over the post in Skopje in 2018, and during his mandate, several Russian diplomats were expelled from North Macedonia following the start of the war in Ukraine.
