North Macedonia’s EU path, expectedly, was among the focal points of discussion during the Q&A session of Parliament, held on Thursday.
“We will do everything to start negotiations with the EU, but we will not do that as modern Macedonians”, PM Hristijan Mickoski said (referring to amendments to Rapporteur Thomas Waitz’s draft-report), while answering a question from SDSM leader Venko Filipce, who also serves as an MP of his party.
Despite their different stands on the constitutional changes issue, on whether the Macedonian language and identity are endangered in the French proposal, and on which documents it contains, Mickoski and Filipce share the view that that unification of all forces is needed in both Parliament and beyond on the eve of the plenary session of the EP which will be held in July.
Among the other topics over which accusations were traded at the session was the Draft-Law on Equitable Representation, the economy, energy, and healthcare.
