Reactions to the case of Iva Mihailova, who holds dual citizenship of North Macedonia and Bulgaria, and who is charged with causing a fatal traffic accident in North Macedonia, have continued. The 23-year-old has been in Bulgaria since Monday.
On Tuesday, SDSM’s Andrej Zhernovski stated that allowing Mihailova to cross the border had been an arranged deal and a mega-scandal requiring an urgent institutional resolution and political accountability. According to SDSM, the public has now seen what Foreign Minister Mucunski was actually negotiating during last week’s visit to Sofia.
On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE said SDSM had “played for Bulgaria once again” through Filipche and former leader Zaev. According to the party, the doctor who established the diagnosis for Iva Mihailova is Ivan Barbov, who was appointed Director of the Clinic of Neurology in 2017 by Zaev and Filipche.
