VMRO-DPMNE is committed to the Defenders Draft-Law being unblocked within Parliament. On Monday, MP Marija Miteva called on SDSM MPs part of the Social Policy Committee to sign and send a request to the body’s head, European Front MP Ilire Dauti, for her to convene a session.
VMRO-DPMNE asked whether SDSM MPs would sign the document and also, if she didn’t convene a session, whether they would file a request for a no-confidence motion against her.
SDSM, however, described VMRO-DPMNE’s call as a desperate manoeuvre. However, it didn’t say whether it would support the efforts to unblock the document it itself filed several months after it had become an opposition party.
Dauti voiced a stand too, saying VMRO-DPMNE didn’t have the right to demand that the document be unblocked because that party had previously blocked Parliament, adding that she wouldn’t unblock the text until it covered NLA members.
